They sure do. That's the "balancing act." Throw a non-matched element in
there and the balance goes haywire. How bad, I wouldn't know.
BTW, I realize this isn't a particularily technical way to state this. It's
rather the paraphrasing to be expected from an instructor, based on reading of
multiple sources.
