Hi Joseph,

I've used both fairly recently. Although I haven't tested in any scientific
way, it is certainly my impression that one realizes those advantages in
the 50 ASA version over the 100 for which one purchases such a film.

Both films have a bias toward magenta which, while easy to tame (I scan my
film into Photoshop and increase green), gets a little tiresome to deal
with. I probably did not help my cause to the degree that I use skylight
filters instead of more neutral haze filters when I need such things.

BTW the most neutral 50 ASA tranny film I've used lately is Agfa RSX-50.
Colors seem just as vibrant as Velvia but somehow slightly better balanced.
Oddly enough, my film scanner (which is not SOTA: Nikon Coolscan II) has a
lot more trouble with blacks with the RSX-50 than with Velvia. Makes me
wonder if the film base is slightly thicker and/or if it is a lot more
contrasty in the low end of this film.

Joel
