I understood your question quite well, Peter, so 
my answer wasn't clear enough then.

My reasoning is as follows:
1. Two T-32's work happily together in TTL flash.
2. An Olympus T-32 and a F-280 cannot be combined for TTL flash.
3. Then it is not be expected that two F-280's can.

The Q & A section of the F-280 manual (p. 47 in my copy) says clearly
enough:

Q. Combined with other flashes, can multi-light emission be performed?
A. No, it cannot.

There is only one exception to the rule, and that is when you use the
F-280 on top of the OM-77AF (OM-707) with the Power Flash Grip 300
installed. Those two flashes fire simultaneously and proper exposure
is determined according to total light.  

I would be very careful testing a setup like you have ideas about...
