Not according to the manual that I have just received with my wonderful,
mint OM2N. The manual is dated 1082 and says quite clearly that the system
defaults to normal OTF exposure if the shutter is tripped with the selector
lever in the OFF position. However, the exposure will be limited to 1/30
sec to "save battery exhaustion".
It may be that different models or dates of OM2/2N had different
functionality... hey! another subject to rival the "number of 50mm lenses
that were made" debate; or to match for excitement the reasons for the
difference between Auto and Manual readouts in the viewfinder :-)
