[OM] OM-2n erratic shutter speed. Common? Expensive?

after 20-odd years of service, my OM-2n has started acting oddly. i've
noticed that, in manual mode, the slow shutter speeds don't always
work properly. i'll dial in 1/30 and get 1/8 (or slower), etc.
it isn't a matter of it slipping into "auto" mode, because i've
badly overexposed some shots because of this. sometimes it'll work
perfectly: i'll get five perfect shots and then (without touching
the shutter speed ring) the next will be wayyy too slow.

auto still works perfectly, and there are no other indications of
problems, but i'm wondering whether this is a fixable offense. if
this is just a matter of cleaning off some deeply-hidden contacts,
i won't hesitate to take it to the shop (and anyone know of a decent
shop in washington d.c.?) but if this is a symptom of some deep
electronic problem, i'll just continue to use it in auto mode until
i can afford its replacement.

tia for any clues,
joe
