Hello Shawn, and others.

Maybe you remember me being sceptical about commercial and other for
sale advertisements on the mailing list.
I was afraid that the 'normal' postings with questions and answers
about the Olympus equipment would largely disappear from the list,
because of the increasing number of FS/WTD ads, leaving less space for
technical discussion.

As it turns out now, the number of 'marketplace' postings has indeed
increased dramatically, and - fortunately - the technical discussions
are still going on.
But the list as a whole has lost much of its attractiveness to me,
mainly because the number of messages which has virtually no
Oly-content (including all commercial ones!) is getting too big now.

I wonder if it might be feasible to split the list in another way than
earlier proposed - one part containing all marketplace postings (FS,
WTB and trade ads, questions about priceing etcetera) and another
being the continuation of the 'old' mailing list, with photographical,
technical and artistical discussions but leaving out all commercial
messages.

I certainly would read both lists, but it would be much less confusing
than it is now - and I guess that the number of FS and WTB ads will
only increase further in the future, making it even more difficult to
filter out the messages I am interested in at a particular moment.

How do you all think about this?
