I believe that the standards vary between shops - depends on the staff.
But anyway, as long as they knew the condition and did not try to hide it
from the putative customer, what was wrong with your experience. Finally,
the warranty was the point on which I meant that Jessops would be keen to
maintain their reputation (until they are a monopoly that is).
Unfortunately, Jessops are now like the supermarkets: they want to
homogonise the market to save on stock costs. High quality stuff like
Billingham is a special order item now. Jessops shops used to be fun to
visit but not now.

~~I should think so. Remember that we are as far away from some parts of
the US as some other parts of the US - well nearly ;-)

~~I am on a tour in Germany, near the Dutch border and the town of Roermond
- therefore I am an hour ahead of you. When I first served at this station
(RAF Brueggen, due to close to the RAF in 2002) Dutch Energy Saving Time
and Germany Energy Saving Time started on different dates to GB and
different from each other. It was thus possible to set off from Germany too
late for the shops in Holland because the time went forward as you crossed
the border about 200 yards from the main gate!

I know ... the same happens in the centre of the US where Mountain Time can
catch you out (and it did) as can the drinking laws between counties.
