You'll have to be in good shape! It's about 4 miles and 2,000 vertical feet
from the nearest road. Of course, it helps if you have 30 pounds of photo
gear on your back. :-)

I've added a QuickTime VR movie. Be aware it is almost 700k, but you can
begin to play with it while it is downloading.

This should make it easier to view. You can drag around with the cursor
until you puke. (VR gives some people motion sickness.) Hint: use the
control key to zoom out, shift to zoom in.

If you don't already have it, you'll have to download and install a
QuickTime viewer for your web browser, which you can get at:

(This is the technology that Microsoft tried to kill. See what Bill Gates
is afraid of!)

Don't encourage me... :-) Okay, here's one more, also about 700k:

This is whimsical shot from the silo on the ancestral farm in southeast
Michigan. The silo hadn't been used for silage for at least 40 years, so my
dad and brother built a platform in the top of it "just for fun." You'll
have to view it to see why I call it "whimsical." This was my first attempt
to do something tricky with a pan -- later attempts have not been as good
-- you need disciplined models! I also used less overlap: only nine shots
in portrait orientation, which didn't seem to hurt anything.

Data: OM-4Ti, Zuiko 21/3.5 (older, single coated version), hyperfocal at
f16, exposure unrecorded (probably 1/60th) determined by averaging eight
spots on the silo edge on compass points and memorizing, on Konica 400
"pulled" to ASA 100, Benbo Trekker tripod with Bogen 410 mini-gear-head.
Low-res scan provided with film processing by Seattle Filmworks.

This stuff is great fun -- so much so that I've pillaged my retirement fund
to get a 16mm fisheye and an 18/3.5! I'm going to be doing some VR work for
a custom sailboat builder and for a local realtor. I'll put one or two up
when I get them.
