It's all up to me - they're actually removing the aircraft from the pole 
using a crane.

Following everybody's advice, I think I'll load up with Velvia (despite 
the can of worms I've opened!) and get some shots with the meter set to 
25, 32, 40, 50, 64 and 100... and bracket three stops each side at each 
setting just to sure!
