Hi all:
Well, I just suffered the "missed photo-op of the week (maybe the
year!)". While walking to lunch, I passed a large oak tree. There were
3-4 crows squalking, and I paused to look at them. I then noticed on a
lower limb (about 10 ft off the ground) was a large red-tail hawk
munching away on a fresh squirrel. However, what made the shot even
more interesting was another squirrel sitting on a limb 180 degrees away
from the the one the hawk was on, at the same level in the tree, looking
*very* concerned. Unfortunately, all my cameras were back at the house,
even the XA. I figured the shot would be gone by the time I got back to
my house and got the cameras and returned. However, on the way back
from lunch, the hawk was still there (the other squirrel and the crows
were long gone). The hawk was no longer having his lunch, but was just
watching the folks on the heavily travelled path in front of the Science
Center here. This almost makes me want to start carrying a OM with a
couple of lenses in a small bag everywhere I go, but deep in my heart I
know I will never see anything quite like this again.

Cheers,
--Lee
