<<I've never heard of Todd Webb. I'll have to keep my eyes open for his
work.>>

       Nor I,
This is from the brochure, copied with OCR scanner.

         Georgia O'Keeffe:
         The Artist's Landscape,
         Photographs
         by Todd Webb

In these forty large scale, black-
         and-white photographs, Todd
Webb conveys the spirit of the
         place and landscape that so
         inspired O'Keeffe. Mr. Webb
         became O'Keeffe's friend in the
         mid-1940s, and they remained
close until her death. He had
         extraordinary access to the
         artist and her immediate
         surroundings and took these
         photographs over the course of
         thiry years, from the mid-
1950s to the early 1980s. In fact,
         it was at O'Keeffe's encourage-
ment that Mr. Webb began to
visit New Mexico, and he even
         stayed at her home.

         The photographs encompass
         the architecture of her home
         and other buildings, the
         artifacts such as skulls that
         drew the artist's eye, interiors,
and even the image of a rare
         sculpture. A smaller version is
         part of Georgia O'Keeffe The
Artist in Focus. The Todd Webb
show is curated by Jack Woody
         and is being circulated by
         Curatorial Assistance, Inc.

         According to Jenitifer Hardin,
         Curator of Collections and
         Exhibitions, "thls series relates
         to Paul Strand's multiple
         portrait in which interiors,
         landscapes, and portraits
         together reflect a single
         concept. Unlike numerous
         photographs of O'Keeffe that
         are more strictly portraits,
Webb has not only captured the
inspiration for her art, but also
the actual spaces in which she
         created. Prepared Canvas,
         Abiquiu Studio, 1963, offers a
         rare look at her creative
         process, with brushes, model,
         finished work, and a painting
         yet to be started. Such
         photographs suggest the
         complex dialogue at play
         between nature and studio
         work in the creation of
         O'Keeffe's paintings."
