 Brian Eno has
a nice essay on this, last page in this month's "Wired". Upon first
reading it, it didn't strike home right away -- after all, not only am I
engineer and musician when I do electronic music,.........
...................... Eno's describing musicians seeking out older
analog gear:

I'm not sure what the article is about, but regarding electronic music, do
you mean like Stockhausen (Blockhausen) or pop group gear.
All synthesisers do is reproduce very badly the sound of acoustic
instruments,
only the electric guitar is a creditable instrument in its own right.

Eno is not a "musician" he seems incapable of writing even a simple
composition.

Music is still music no matter how it is played or on what. It needs
musical ability not technology.

Whats this got to do with OM, what sounds the best a conventional piano
(OM) or a synthesiser (EOS). The real ability is in being able to take
pictures or write/play music.

Most people now cannot take pictures (whatever camera they use) and cannot
play or write music in spite of (or because of) the electronics (least of
all people like eno).
Perhaps its got more to do with poor education.
