Sounds about right.  I took some shots of my daughter at a stage presentation
from 80 feet with a Vivitar S1 200/3, T32 with zoom extender and Fuji NHG II.
THey all came out pretty good except when they were looking toward me.  It
wasn't red eye but white eye.  And when the shot was not in focus, white discs
floated in front of their faces.  I guess I needed an assistant to hold the
T32 about 4 feet away to avoid the white eye.
