  Hi Shawn ---
I ran across something the other day that might be of
interest to the list. It is a book titled "How Famous Photographers
Work". Of OM interest is that many of them used our favored brand.

Anthea Sieveking, who photographed children in England, was working with
both Nikon and OM, saying that she used the OMs because they were quieter.
She shot things like Leboyer-style childbirth, which means shooting in a
room lit by a 25-watt bulb. There's some shots with a 50 and a 70-150.

Patrick Lichfield talks about using OMs on location (and Blads in the
studio).

John Swannell, a famous UK fashion shooter, describes using his OMs with
35, 70-150, and a 300mm.

Photojournalist Terry Fincher (UK) who prowled places where very nasty
things were happening (from his pics), mentions taking his trusty OM-1s,
and 28, 85, 70-150, 300 and a doubler. Also two flashguns, and a small
set of folding steps to get that tall view.

Famous bird-shooter Eric Hosking also used OMs. There's a shot there
taken with the 600mm.

Mario de Biasi, a Brazilian globetrotter, used OM2s, and a 21, 50 &
70-150 in his travels while doing magazine work.

From all these shots, maybe it is time to give the old 70-150 a second
look...seems a lot of pros published work done with it (there's a fashion
pro named Lucille Kohrnak who had a book out, and she used that 70-150 a
lot).

All these photographer's work are accompanied by several images.

For those that are interested, the book was published by Amphoto in
1983 by Eaglemoss Publications. The ISBN number is: 0-8174-4002-X.

                         Wishing everyone a happy holiday,
                                 Doris
