Hi all,

Due to the excellent input and sources from folks on the binocular thread, I
have decided on a set of Nikon Superior-E 8 X 32 binoculars for spotting
birds, race cars, etc. The idea is that they are very close in magnification
(8X) to a Zuiko 300mm with 1.4X converter (this is correct, no?) and would
serve as a nice previewer for photos.

My question is, how close is the angle of view of the 300mm with 1.4 converter
to the Nikon's 7.5 degrees? According to the OM Manual for Zuiko
Interchangeable Lenses Group, a 300mm is 8 degrees and a 400mm is 6 degrees.
My guess is that a 420mm (300 X 1.4) would be a bit less than that, but what
effect does the converter have on the angle of view that would differ from a
standard lens od 420mm?
