Hans,
No flame shields required.  I've used Elite 100 several times and have no
complaints about it.  As I generally use negative films, I'm certainly no
expert on chromes, but hey, I've never really met a film I didn't like :>
It works.  Try it out and see if it suits you.  There are two other "pro"
variants of that film as well, you may want to give then a shot and see if
the differences are more to your tastes.
