Actually, this is nothing new for C*non. In fact, in 1986 they introduced
the C*non T-90, probably still THE most full-featured manual focus SLR,
which had multi-spot capability (up to 5 spots), highlight/shadow controls,
as well as: OTF metering & flash; motorized film advance/rewind; vertical
shutter with 1/4000 to 30 speeds AND 1/250 X-sync.; 100 0.000000 coverage;
full-info. VF; interchangeable focusing screens; powered by AA batteries,
etc. The T-90 was in production for only 2 years (first EOS bodies appeared
in 1987), but it had quite an impact even on our "Mother Ship", as many of
the above features found their way into Olympus IS-1/2/3 ZLR designs. I'm
pretty certain that if there was ever a blueprint/prototype of a man. focus
OM-6, it must've looked very much like a smaller, more elegant T-90.
