This seems to indicate that the 24/2.8 went from SC to MC somewhere between
174440 and 185300. As for sample 140037 - this may be a case of misidentified
coatings or perhaps the front ring was replaced as part of a repair, changing
the S/N (pure speculation on my part).
This also seems to indicate a change from the chrome nose to the black nose

TO ADD to this I have a Black Nose 24/f2.8 S/N171478 which is an H.ZUIKO and
does not say MC. So going by your info it is probably SC. But boy does it
take great photos!
