Hi all,
Being normally an APX25 man, I'm not used to the characterisitics of OM
meters with fast film. I seldom use anything faster than ISO100, but I've
been trying some Ilford Delta 3200, and in low light was getting meter
readings (both auto and manual) of around 1/30 at f2.8 on my 2SP. However,
I've since discovered that I get the same reading with the lens cap on, and
the meter appears to work happily enough; adjusting the aperture produces a
corresponding repsonse in the shutter speed, yet there's no light! The
problem's not unique to this body either, I checked with my OM-4. So, has
anybody any experiences with using OM meters in low light with fast film?
Is this a typical response? The result, having processed the film, is a
lot of very under-exposed negs :-( There's obviously a minimum light level
at which the meter works, which is fair enough, but there doesn't seem to
be any indication of when this point has been reached. Any thoughts?
