Hi Greg

To get really good natural behavior shots you will have to bait an area, try
to use bait you can tether a carcass, road kill or something like that in the
exact spot you wish to photograph the subject. Pick where you wish to place
your camera and take into account the background and the light reaching the
area
at different times of the day.The reason I tether bait is that the first
thing that
happens is the animal runs away with it and you want to keep them in the spot
you have chosen.I also use the 300mm zuiko, you will need to be no more then
30/40ft
away for frame filling shots, use a flash for eye highlight and to show
detail in the fur.
Bait at the same time every day
Dont try to sneek in and out, they will always know you are about anyway.
Construct a hide using what is about the area, brush, branches etc that way you
can leave it there full time.
The biggest problem I find is keeping warm if it's cold and your sitting still
in a hide waiting for something to happen.
We dont have coyote's in Ireland but I think foxes are close enough, BTW I
have
read that a fox can hear a watch ticking at 40ft away but if they get used
to you
you can take some liberties and get away with it.

Good luck
Rgds Paul
