I'm SO glad you didn't say "spell checking". Spell checkers check your
quantities of ear of bat and eye of newt, and come with many
software packages.

One of the major "quality" papers here - _The Age_ - has confused "it's"
and "its" for years now, and the mistake is beginning to be seen
elsewhere. So frequent is it there that one wonders whether it's
deliberate: the paper is very left wing and has opposed examinations
in schools and so on.

[OM content] My favourite recent howler appears in an Olympus
lens brochure I downloaded from their US web site: "As a maker of
everything from microscope objective lenses to..., Olympus poored its
expertise into the OM Zuiko lens system". They made two errors in
one clause, but at least got "its" right.
