Based on the web page Dave cites, I will have to retract my statement that
the spot is inside and not further than the cross hairs. Following the test
mentioned on that page I detect some sensitivity just as the cross hair
touches the light source about half way across either the left or right
horizontal hair. This is more definitive at 70mm than at 35mm for me.
Once again, mine is a Stylus Zoom, so things could be different with a
fixed focal length camera. Hope you can simply try the test yourself.
