I have had extensive experiece with both SLR and RF in the past 35+years
as a photojournalist. Using both Olympus PenF, OM, and Canon FD and EOS on
the SLR side; and Leica SM, M2, Canon 7 and P, Canon G-111 and Olympus
35SPn---I have found that I can generally shoot 2 stops faster or gain 2
shutter speeds for any given situation. When I was younger I routinly was
able to shoot with acceptable newspaper results hand held at 1/4 to 1/8
with the RF as opposed to 1/30 with SLR. This would be with shorter lenses
of course. I had good results with 90f2.8 at 1/15 & 1/30 with RF and
85f1.8 on SLR at 1/30 to 1/60 with SLR.

Currently when photographing orchestras, theater, and dance I prefer the RF
(Olym pus 35 SPn and Canon G-III 1.7 and occasionally Yashica Lynx 14E with
45mm f/1.4) I do not currently own any SLR lenses faster than 2.8 other
than the Zuiko 50f1.4.

Also I find that with my aging eyes, RF focusing with WA lenses is much
easier and more accurate. I like the bright VF patch in the Olympus 35
SPn, 35 RC, 35DC and the Canon QL 17 G-III.

Best Wishes, Mike
