1) If you are referring to the spring loaded tab in the upper left corner of
the housing; it is pushed in by the calculator panel in both positions. I do
not believe it is a switch, but rather the spring tab pops the panel out
when the release button is pushed, allowing you to grasp the panel to remove
it.

2) The switch settings below the panel are, from left (a.) to right (e.):
(All GN and f. at ASA100.)

     a. Manual (GN 104 ft) and TTL Auto. (The calculator panel pushes the
switch to this setting when the blank side is out);  b. Manual (GN 52 ft);
c. Normal Auto f:4.0;  d. Normal Auto f.5.6;  e. Normal Auto f.8.0

To summarize, the T32 has two manual and three normal auto positions. Just
like the T20, TTL Auto is controlled by the camera when the flash switch is
in the left most manual position. If the camera switch is in auto, the flash
works in TTL Auto. If the camera switch is in manual, the flash works in
manual. It doesn't matter whether the calculator panel is in or out, blank
side or calculator side.

Of course this assumes you are using a body with TTL Auto flash capability
:)
