Its specification is ideal for a beginner bushwalker (wilderness
hiker) or rock climber: fully mechanical, spot meter, cheap,
lightweight, depth of field preview. This combination of features
is not available elsewhere.

The spot meter is desirable because of the huge contrast ranges
encountered in alpine areas, e.g. glacial valleys with one side
in shade. Cheapness because I have seen tyros leave cameras at
the top of peaks. Mechanical for the cold. Lightweight because
every little bit counts.

What a shame it isn't advertised in the specialist press (e.g.
_Wild_ magazine here in Australia).
