I agree with Jan 100%. Gloating about fantastic Zuiko glass that "I got
and you didn't" is not the best of sport, but I haven't seen anyone doing
that here. eBay strategies can be interesting, especially if they are
helpful and teach something about the eBay phenomenon which, as a
psychologist, I still find utterly confusing in many respects. (I find
the variance in prices unnerving. I find the higher-than-they-should-be
prices understandable, but still unnerving. I find the lack of being able
to accurately determine condition unpleasant. I don't like the addictive
nature of the whole process.) For buying, I don't like eBay any more than
a phone with two lines, or wearing a pager, but they are now part of
modern life. (But, hoo boy, have you tried it for selling! It's wild.)
And, to the extent that we can help each other approach this eBay
behemoth with success in obtaining ever more Olympus gear--taking it away
from the benighted, the faddish, and the undeserving, and placing it into
the hands of the enlightened, the doting, and the appropriately
worshipful (that would be us), I say any vehicle that can do that is one
that we should learn about. Also, Jan's digest comment is right on . . .
