The zinc-air battery works by using air as part of the battery 
chemistry.  This allows the 'energy density' to be higher since one 
component of the electro-chemical process is not needed to be sealed 
inside the cell.  Sealing the battery compartment and/or the cell will 
simply turn off the battery.
