In the heat of a great shoot, you have to have an instinctual feel for your
equipment.  That developes over time with shooting.  If I had been able to get
on OM-4 instead of an OM-2S in 1987, I would probably have that symbiosis with
the OM-4.  But I developed it with the OM-2S instead.  The 3 position mode
switch is really a measure of how much of my attention can be focused on
technicalities.  Sometimes none (= Program Auto), often some (= Auto) and
sometimes, esp. with landscapes and waiting for the right lighting, lots (=
manual & spot).
