For those who enjoy such things, this is #1 of three tests just completed.
User impressions follow the SQF results.

28-48mm f/4 S Zuiko (multi-coated)

@ 28mm setting
Vignetting = B-@f/4,B+@f/5.6
Distortion = waveform with distinct barrel tendency
Aperture  Center    Corner
f/4       B         C
f/5.6     B         B-
f/8       B+        B
f/11      B+        B
f/16      B+        B
f/22      B         B
Note: Moderate contrast, except at f/22 which was low.

@ 35mm setting
Vignetting = B
Distortion = moderate barrel
Aperture  Center    Corner
f/4       C+        C-
f/5.6     B-        B-
f/8       B         B
f/11      B         B
f/16      B         B
f/22      B-        B-
Note: Moderate contrast, except at f/4 and f/22 which was low.

@ 48mm setting
Vignetting = B-
Distortion = None
Aperture  Center    Corner
f/4       B         C
f/5.6     B         C+
f/8       B         B-
f/11      B+        B-
f/16      B         B-
f/22      B-        B-
Note: Moderate contrast, except at f/22 which was moderately low.

This lens is compact in the OM tradition and seemly well built (better than a
polycarbonate Canon FD 28-55mm f/3.5~4.5), although it was a Like New in Box
sample. It has modern appearing coating, although green reflections are not
common. The hood screws into an outer thread, thus minimizing the chances of
vignetting. But using a polarizer and the outer hood would be difficult due
to 1) rotation of the barrel when focusing and 2) obstruction of the gripping
edges of the filter by the hood. Focusing is rather difficult due to the
limited maximum aperture. f/22 isn't really a usable setting since the
pictures look washed out from low contrast and my SQF benchmarks from
previous tests didn't have to deal with low contrast images.
