If you purchase a flash unit that is compatible with the OM-10 capability 
of detecting "flash ready", then the shutter speed of the OM-10 will be 
automatically set to for flash exposure.
Any other flashes (flash units with single contact pin) will require that 
you move the shutter selector switch (on the top of the camera) to manual, 
which will set the shutter speed to 1/45 second.
The flash should be set by using the auto settings of the flash and 
matching the suggested f/stop suggested by the flash.  Set this f/stop on 
your lens and exposures should be correct.
