Amen! I missed a shot just this morning for that very reason - I was
using the timer to prefire the mirror for some sunset shots last
night, and stuck the camera in the bag without resetting it. This
morning, I wanted to shoot some tractors in the field (handheld), and
guess what happened..

Grrrrrr......
