I am not an expert so you will probably get better replies from others with
more
experience but here is what I think.
You mention not having time to hyperfocus. I would have thought you don't have
enough time to do anything but pre focus, hyperfocaly, so all you have to do is
point and shoot - figuratively speaking.
I have read that some people who shoot in a hectic situation and pre-focus -
tape the
focusing ring in place so it doesn't move.
I think you might need something a bit wider than what you have say a 24mm or
even
a 21mm. These will further reduce the need to focus due to the large depth of
field, especially if you use a fast film that allows a small aperture.
To that end I would stick with Fuji 800 super G. as it will allow the smaller
apertures I think you will need.
Consider equipping your OM4 with a 2-4 or 2-13 screen as they are much brighter
than
the standard screens and will improve your viewfinder image, especially when the
lighting gets difficult and will generally make focusing easier for when you
have
to. Some people say they actually make focusing wide angle lenses more
difficult
but I have not personally found this to be the case (24mm). A 2-4 screen has
no
split image or microprism focusing aids - just a circle to indicate the spot
metering area. The 2-13 is a bright version of the standard screen and so has
these
focusing aids. Neither will effect the metering of an OM4 but would effect the
metering of the OM1 and would anyhow have to have a small tab filed down anyway
to
fit.
Probably the most important thing to do would be to try out your gear and
chosen
film in the facility beforehand at the same time of day with someone to act as
a
model so you can gauge which lens or lenses would give the best field of view.
Fresh batteries in everything beforehand - test them first - and carry at least
two
sets of spares for each item. Bring both bodies.
Do not submit all your rolls of exposed film for processing at the same time in
case
of accidents - get them done in batches.
