Actually the OM1 with mirror lockup was better than the OM4 without mirror
prefire. The mag listed the presently available cameras with mirror lockup
and it was a very short list. The point of the article was that mirror lockup
was in fact needed. They didn't test mirror prefire. I would think that the
results would be the same as with mirror lockup. They also did extensive
testing of the Slik and Bogen telephoto lens supports, with and without
mirror lockup with a Nikon F5, with the lens tripod mount and with camera
tripod mount. They got the best results with the Slik support, and mirror
lockup.
