For other ideas, I have a Nissin TTL ring flash that cost me $149 plus an
adapter I already had for another Nissin flash. This mode R50TTLI has a
Guide Number of 10 but that's all you need. It came with 49, 52 and 55 mm
adapters so I can use it on the 80/4, 50/3.5 and Sigma 90/2.8. This is sort
of an off brand, but is made my Nissin of Japan.

With the Bogen macro arms I use 2 T-20 flashes on the bracket arms. One flash
is connected by a DuoSynch TTL cord to the hot shoe and the other is
connected with the TTL 5 pin cord into a T-20 connector to the T-20. Each
flash has some Velcro atttached in front so I can attach some .3 or .6 ND
filters to reduce the brightness of the flash. I cut a couple of Cokin "A"
sized ND filters in two for flash reduction.

The last and one of my more favorite setups (an also my oldest) is a
Spiratone bellows with two cheap Vivitar manual flashes. I've has this set up
for 20 years and still works well. The two macro flash brackets are attached
to the FRONT standard of the bellows. When you extend the bellows, you have
to add an exposure factor because of the bellows extension. But because the
flash is attached to the front standard, the flash gets brighter. Used with
an Nikkor 80/5.6 enlarging lens at f 8, I get perfect exposures from 0.5X to
2X.without any exposure compensation with K64 or Velvia.

I can't comment on the marvelous Olympus twin macro flashes because of $$. If
offered at a good price .......... I would jump. The wonderful thing about
the Olympus units is the modeling lights built into the flash head so you can
see the lighting and focus. Wonderful.
