Sounds like I have a little work to do!

My OM-1 came with a battery, and when I threw one of the older lantern
batteries I had found into my wife's Leicaflex, both cameras metered the
same scene identically. I didn't specifically check the voltage of these
newer batteries, and an Alkaline replacement would make a lot of sense.

Tonight, I'll check the voltage on cells from the various sources (OM, new
Varta Hg, Old Coleman, New Coleman), and if that looks promising (1.35v),
I'll see how the meter in my OM responds with these. I don't recall the
additional letter designation with the 625, but I also didn't compare with
the Vartas.

And, no, I didn't think Coleman was selling banned merchandise, but rather
that some old stock was being liquidated. Like so many other things, this
may be too good to be true! My apologies.
