<<I think the new C2000 is one of the first consumer digital cameras that
will actually be a landmark unit in the digital camera market. Just
like the original OM1 from Olympus in '73 was with its OTF & small size
and quality optics. I doubt that OM equipment (most of it anyway) will
ever receive the collector status of the Leica, Rollei, and old Nikon.
Olympus designs a more practical product. A true user product.
Unfortunatly we see future. It will be a while before our OM stuff is
obsolete. So in the meantime I plan to shoot as many rolls of film thru
these old gems as I can. Also I plan to use the 50mm more.
I going to shoot like I did in 1973 only without the "Earth Shoes" and
bell bottom pants. Btw I got me a Minolta film scanner instead of the
C2000. I guess Olympus is going to have to come up with a little better
ad copy. ( I did not even get their film scanner ).

Actually I was at Best Buy today and saw one of these in the case.
I didn't handle it but I wanted it anyway. I who never wanted a digital
camera.
It looked OMish for digital. The $999 stopped me though. No impulse buying
at that price right now.
