I'm 38 and have had OM stuff since 1976 when I was 16. First came an OM-1
w/MD1, 50/1.8 & 75-150/4, then a 35/2. I went to college where my
collection expanded to an OM-2n, 21/3.5, 180/2.8, 300/4.5, & Vivitar Series
1 90/2.5. I worked for the newspaper, the yearbook, the university
communications dept, and a pro in town to support my habit. I must have
processed and proofed 2000+ rolls of Tri-X during those years. I got a
350/2.8 at KEH after school and did a couple of years of photojournalism,
taking pro sports and such. Then I got a real job, and sold the 180, 300,
75-150, OM1, 350/2.8, and MD-1. (The OM-1 had taken a nasty fall onto
cement and had a cracked mirror box.). I always regret selling the
telephotos, even though I got good money for them. The Yen really went out
of sight in the 80's, and the good stuff like the 350/2.8 was then
unattainable to reacquire.

I've been through several hundred rolls and several cycles of camera-itis
since the mid-80's, with my collection adding an OM-4T, MD2, Flashes, 50/2
Macro, three Tamrons: SP 35-80/3.5-4.5, SP 80-200/2.8, and recently and SP
28-105/2.8. I really like the 2.8 Tamrons. They're sharp and the 80-200
has been especially rugged. It's a worthy substitute to Zuikos, especially
since they don't come in that constant 2.8 Aperature. I went through my
large format stage, owning a 4x5, 90/8, and 210/8 for a few years; but I
grew tired of the 4x5 hassles, but never of the images; so I sold that
setup. Maybe I'll got large again to a Mamiya 7 someday (6x7) , but
probably never back to 4x5.

Recently, I've got two little girls (ages 6 & 3), and they've rekindled my
interest in pictures. I'd forgotten how much I love images and their
creation. They form a lasting link to memories and the past that's
difficult to obtain other ways.

Current plans are for another 4t, 16/3.5, a replacement 300/4.5 and maybe a
couple of Zuiko short zooms. If I win the lottery, maybe a Tamron 400/4 or
300/2.8.

I also recently got a Pen FT, which I'm really happy with.

Now if I could only get that Leica M bug out of my ear that I've had for
the last 15 years! (I'll probably break down and get an M6, it'll be a
great companion to the OM's and Pens)
