I've had very variable results with mine, sometimes excellent and some
pretty dreadful. I once suspected camera shake and used it from a tripod at
f16 and the result was very poor. Thanks to Gary's tests I now realise it's
a two stop lens - f3.5 for viewing/focussing and f8 for the exposure. I may
stick a bit of tape over the aperture ring to keep it at f8 in case I
forget.
