Skip,
   The main difference is that the T-10 is designed to flash forward and
the T-8 is designed to flash sideways into the reflectors. The T-8 makes
a much larger package on the camera. The T-8 also has a MUCH softer
light. The T-10 has the ability to take the cross-pol filter. 
Both units have the built-in modeling lamps. Both units use the T-Power
control. 

Guide numbers on all T series flash units is their number. This is the
guide number in meters. T-45 has a guide number of 45, T-20 has a guide
number of 20, T-10 has a guide number of 10, etc.
