True, but the difference in price is relatively small.
Gitzo G1227 carbon = $499.00 USD
Gitzo G1228 carbon = $509.95
Velbon Carmagne 640 = $439.95

Considering the relative reputations of the two companies, the
Gitzo seems like the way to go.
