Depends on the hood (is it designed for the focal length you're using?) and
the thickness of the filter (Tiffen filters are usually thicker than most,
for example).
Whether it's rubber or metal won't make a difference. Whether it is a true
Olympus won't make a difference either.
If you put a metal or rubber hood designed for 50mm on a 28mm lens, you will
likely have vignetting.
If you're stacking filters, try a wider hood.

I ran into some viginetting when I put a polarizer and a rubber hood onto a
28-70 zoom. Hoya filter and hood.

Are there any rules of thumb for the number of filter rings that we can put
on the ends of our Zuikos without affecting the image? I'd like to use a
sky or a polarizer with a hood - that would be a total of 2 filter rings.
I'd like to do this on a 50/1.4, 50/1.8, 100/2.8, 28/2.8.
