Glen,
Chances are the Tamron tube is 45mm.  Check the ratios on the side of the
lens.  If the lens goes to 1:2 by itself, then the extension is 45mm.  If
that holds, then use the 36 and the 12, crank your focus back a little bit
less than 1/4" and you're probably "close enough for government work".  Now
just move camera and lens back and forth to focus....

Brian,

Thanks for your response, I think you're right.  Using a couple of these
tubes together, I seem to get greater than 1:1.  The reason that I wanted to
know the exact size of the tamron tube was so that I might to use the
markings on the lens more precisely.
