Blow the resulting images up to 20x24 or project them with a good slide
projector lens and I think you'll find the answer is "yes, you do get what
you pay for." Lens tests don't show the whole picture when different film
formats come into play. Not that I would by a Rollei...but projected medium
format will blow your socks off! (btw, I'm happy with my Kindermann
projector even if it does have a lot of plastic)
