Jeff,
There was more than one version of 50 1.8 lens in MC.  Check Gary Reese's
tests on those lenses.
50 1.8's seem to be as common as fleas among OM users.  Good lens.
What pin?  Please describe it better.
There should be two "levers" on the back of the lens.  One will tell the
body what aperture has been set by the user, the other will be used by the
body to stop the lens to that setting at "photo time".
