In response to the list member who mentioned that you could get shoe 4s for
$24... The shoe I picked up is the TTL auto connector type 4. This
accessory accepts a ttl cord and not a flash - sorry for the confusion.

I recently got to go through a couple dozen of the "tourist" camera shops
in San Francisco near the Wharf, Chinatown, and near the cable car
terminus. Unfortunately, I couldn't break away from my family to check out
the real stores on Market and south of it.

I found that about half of the shops have some new in box OM lenses and
accessories either on the back shelves or under the counters. I managed to
pick up a brand new TTL Accessory shoe 4 for my OM1 for less than $30, &
some lens hoods and filters for great prices. The folks who work in these
shops seem to want to get rid of this stuff since it basically sits on
their shelves.

Most of the lenses were a bit overpriced from a used/Ebay perspective. I'm
not familiar with new prices. A 50 1.4 was in the $160 area. I did not try
to bargain since I didn't see anything that interested me. I just wanted to
let you know that the stuff is out there...
