: As a newcomer to the list, I have not seen the previous discussion on this
: subject. However, I offer the following information comparing Olympus 2
: series & Beattie screens, based on my own observations.

Thanks for this elaborate comparison between the two.

: With a 300/4.5, darkening in the corners and on each side is again evident
: with the 2-4 screen. (..) With a Zuiko 1.4X-A
: converter added to the 300/f4.5 (effectively 420/f6.4), the darkening in
: the corners and on each side appears to be about the same as with the 300mm
: by itself (no noticeable worsening).

That's strange; I don't notice any vignetting with this lens, with or without
the 1.4XA, on my OM-4 + 2-4. If there is any, it disappears when I move my eyes
a little towards the centre of the screen.

: manufacturing process. He indicated that the factory may consider
: producing a 2-10 screen if 1000 units were ordered. Are there 998 users
: out there that need a 2-10 screen?

My OM-3, OM-4 and OM-4Ti bodies would all three be very happy to have a 2-10
mounted, and I would maybe order two in reserve, so only 993 additional orders
needed... What the heck, with only 1000 units ever made, it will become a
collectors item, an e-Bay gold mine; I may even buy ten of them ;-)

P.S. how many orders will put the OM-5AF in production? ;-)

: PS. Please excuse my ignorance, but could someone please explain what
: "bokeh" is.

Plenty of that in The Archives. In short, it is the way out-of-focus subjects
are rendered in the image. Seems to be related to the number and shape of the
aperture blades. Primitive lenses with only a few blades may result in 'bad
bokeh' with poor unnatural highlights in the blurred background.
