Yes, in the UK there's a phone charge per minute of access and it's around
four times as expensive to phone between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays as it
is at weekends or evenings. Fortunately there has been a decrease in the
cost of going online as many ISPs, including Virgin Net, the one I use, are
providing a free access option where the monthly charge is dropped, in
exchange for a high charge per minute for ringing their help line, which is
probably as good as help lines can be in my experience.
