Focus is more critical with telephotos but then some lens are made to focus 
past infinity to account for small changes in the length of the lens due to 
expansion by heating up. So it is not possible to just rack out the lens to 
infinity focus and assume that the lens is focused at infinity. The best way 
is to check the focusing accuracy with a large aperture lens taking the photo 
of a ruler or of a newpaper placed on a table at an angle.  Focus on a 
specific object, line or inch marker. If you focus is correct then no 
problem. If your focus is off, then you won't know if it is the focusing 
screen or mirror adjustment.
