There's a some good books by Michael John Langford.

I learned from either Basic Photography or Advanced Photography when I 
was in Photo Arts at Ryerson in Toronto, many years ago.

They're clear & simple without being trivial. A technical joy.

Look at your bookstore or on Amazon.com
