Welcome to the list Joey:

Close up lens can work quite well as metering is through the camera and needs 
no compensation.  There is little or no light loss with the use of these 
devices.  Also you can get good quality images as long as you stop down to 
f5.6 of 8.  Try to avoid stacking them up for maximum magnification as this 
will also decrease sharpness.
